Is This One of the Greatest Final Fours in NCAA Tournament History?

The Final Four is set and boy-o-boy is it going to be absolutely fantastic. Who had these four teams in the Final Four? Who had ANY of these teams in the Final Four? I mean, I've loved Miami all year, and I had them losing to Texas in the Elite 8. UConn is about as hot as any team I've ever seen, and I had them losing in the Sweet 16. Then don't even get me started on SDSU and FAU, who I had losing in the first and second rounds respectively. That's what makes this year's Final Four so great, the fact that not a soul saw this coming.

Let's talk about San Diego State. Of all the teams in the Final Four, this is the one I slept on the most. I had them losing in the first round, and I had them losing in the second round, and I had them losing in the Sweet 16, and I had them losing in the Elite 8. Well, I finally have them winning a game in the Final Four, which very well may mean they'll lose based on my track record. I'll be honest, I've been so busy hating on them that I haven't taken the time to pay true attention to what they're doing that's winning them games. Their defense has been great, but I just feel like their offense is too mediocre to win it all. I want them to win mostly because I think they stand a much better chance in the championship game because of their ability to slow teams down, and I'd like to see a competitive championship game.

Florida Atlantic may just be the Cinderella to end all Cinderellas. Not only is this a team that has made it deep into the tournament despite doubters, but they are also genuinely really good. Do I think they have what it takes to slow down teams like UConn and Miami? No. However, I do think they stand a very good chance against San Diego State. For them it may just come down to how much heart they have, and from what I've seen in this tournament they have more heart than any other team in the field.

Miami is simply incredible. This team impresses me every time they step on the floor, and as of today they are my pick to win it all. This team has so many weapons it's actually crazy. Isaiah Wong is a crazy good player. Nigel Pack is one of the most entertaining basketball players I've ever seen. Jordan Miller had a perfect game from the field against Texas. Wooga Poplar and Norchad Omier are the perfect supporting pieces. This team is just so fun to watch. I hope every single one of these guys has a long professional career because I want to keep watching each and every one of them.

With all of that being said, UConn is obviously the favorite to win it all as of today. They have been red hot, and when I say red hot I mean red hot. No team has been as hot this season as UConn is at this very moment. They have crushed every single team in their path, and up to this point haven't struggled for a single second. However, I think that may be what kills them. Who knows, but I think it's very likely that they get too comfortable, and you can't get too comfortable against a team like Miami. Texas got too comfortable and look at what happened to them. If I were a betting man I would likely still put my money on UConn, but I seriously do think Miami is going to get the better of them in the next round.

All in all, I think all we can do is lay back and take this all in. We may never see a Final Four with this much parity every again. Three teams fighting for their first national championship, and one team trying to prove themselves as a college basketball blue blood. One could say that all four of the teams remaining are Cinderella stories, and I think that's what makes March Madness exactly that, madness.
